Harry represents taxpayers in disputes before the Internal
Revenue Service as well as before Florida’s taxing authorities, including the
Department of Revenue and the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco. He has substantial experience representing
clients in tax litigation in Florida state courts, federal courts and in the
U.S. Tax Court as well as in state and federal administrative forums. He has obtained favorable rulings with
respect to technical assistance advisement requests (TAA’s) and Private Letter
Rulings (PLR’s) for a wide variety of tax issues, such as sales tax,
documentary stamp taxes and pass-thru issues.
Successfully litigating these cases has provided Harry with
a practical view of transactions that has served his clientele well. He has advised clients on a wide range of
transactions including restaurant leases and acquisitions, licensing,
multi-state and international transactions, entity structure,
operating/shareholder agreements as well as contracts for employees such as
employment agreements, consulting agreements and equity compensation
arrangements.
Harry represents numerous local eating and drinking
establishments as well as international restaurant operators, importers,
manufacturers and service providers. He is also the former chair of the Young Lawyers Division, Tax Section of the American Bar Association.
